There are those that like to have a little bit of action in their games and those that like to pit their wits against the computer. And then there are those that like to have the best of both worlds. This is the case with the fans of the Ironclad game "Sins of a Solar Empire," which is a real-time strategy game based on science fiction. Players are instantly transported to a 3D game field full of stars and planets as they attempt to find planets to conquer and wage battles.
Much like the board game of Risk is about finding territories and setting alliances, "Sins of a Solar Empire" has game play options that are based in scouting out planets to take over as well as using diplomacy with other players in making and breaking agreements. Players are given fleets that they can control to carry out the various actions and movements of the game. There are three different groups of people that are featured in the game, the Trader Emergency Coalition, the Advent, and the Vasari. Each group has a complex history that interlocks them all together.
The game has been released for the PC since February of 2008 and has received good reviews and high recommendations from players that love the game play as well as the graphics. It has also been extremely popular because, unlike many newer games, it can function appropriately on both older and newer model computers which makes it an ideal game for those that don’t have a top of the line computer, but would still like to play a game occasionally.
