The Nintendo Wii has become the latest craze in the world of video games because it has changed the focus of video game systems as a whole. While most brands have been concerned with becoming flashier with fancier graphics, Nintendo took a step back and said that really what new video games needed to do was to become more active and interactive rather simply looking prettier as time goes by. Suddenly, sitting on the couch exercising only your thumbs was no longer an option. And many people found that this new approach to gaming was a breath of fresh air.
The Wii takes it approach to video games seriously, no matter what style of game you happen to be playing. From Madden's NFL game to the action/adventure game of "No More Heroes," the Wii provides you with the opportunity to get up and get moving, even while you are playing. In the game "No More Heroes," the player controls the main character through the Wii remote, but also through the Nunchuk attachment. The remote actually controls the weapon that the main character, Travis Touchdown, carries, while the Nunchuk controls the movements of the character himself.
This game, designed for the Wii, has also received praise from critics because of its quality writing and storyline, as well as the benefits of interactive play. The overall feeling has been that this game, like many others made for the Wii, has put the focus of video games back where it needs to be: on creating interesting and entertaining games that do more than simply look pretty.
