Directing The Patapon Tribe

Being able to control a tiny army as a god-like being from on high is a secret desire of plenty of people. And if your hidden wish includes an army that is two-dimensional and comprised of silhouettes than you should be in a big hurry to get your hands on the game "Patapon," which is put out for the portable PlayStation.  Of course, having a good sense of rhythm is key if you are going to play deity for a 2D shadow army, as the only way to communicate with them is by pounding out rhythms on talking drums.

The objective of the game is to help direct the Patapon tribe back to their homeland as they have been displaced by the Zigoton tribe.  The drums are used to tell the Patapon what they should do, such as to attack or defend.  The first few levels of the game have an army that is made up only of spearmen, but as the game progresses there are greater and stronger warriors that can join your forces.  The Patapon also have a sacred relic that they are attempting to locate, even though they aren't sure what it is exactly. It is up to you, as their Deity, to help them find it and get back the land that was theirs.

Many reviewers have felt that the "Patapon" game not only was the best of the rhythm games available, but it is also one of the best of the PSP titles available.  The better a player becomes at the rhythm aspect, the higher the level that can be advanced to.  The game play occurs in real time and is rated highly among video game reviewers.
