On March 9, 2008, Nintendo released the fighting game Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Wii game system. This game is rated T for teen by the entertainment software rating board, and it can host as many as four players at a time. All four players are able to play both online and offline. It has two online modes to choose from as well as three offline modes to choose from. The two online modes are named competitive and team oriented. The three offline modes are named competitive, cooperative, and team oriented.
Since Nintendo first released the original Super Smash Brothers game nine years ago, and it’s popularity has seemed to grow ever since. One of the reasons this game is so popular is that it’s controls are simple. There are thirty-five characters that can do battle against each other. Fourteen of these characters must be unlocked before they can be played. Some of the characters that have to be unlocked are secret characters. Super Smash Brothers Brawl does offer for the first time the ability to assume the role of non-Nintendo characters like Sonic the Hedgehog and Solid Snake. Sonic the Hedgehog has a special spin and Solid Snake can do what is called a "smash attack."
The Wii game has opened a whole new world of games while putting different ones together. A game where you can take all of the original characters and put them with all the kid like characters that was played as a child. What will be next, Donkey Kong fighting the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?
