The World Ends With You

The World Ends With You is a Japanese role-playing action game created by Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts team and Jupiter. There are two main characters in the game, Players, and Reapers. Aside from this, there are also other non-playable characters, such as shopkeepers that you can interact with throughout the game. Some of the Players include Neku, Shiki, and Yoshiya. Neku is a teenage boy who keeps things to himself rather than socializing with other people. He is the leading character in the game. Shiki is a teenage girl who has an interest in becoming a fashion designer. Yoshiya is an intelligent teenage boy who partners up with Neku. Reapers are responsible for designing and monitoring the game and eliminate Players who fail missions.

The World Ends With You is about Neku, an antisocial teenage boy who finds himself fascinated by shops in Tokyo’s Shibuya district. He awakens and has no memory of how he got there. He has a black pin that gives him psychic powers. He meets a friendly girl, Shiki and ends up trapped in a deadly game set up by the Reapers. The goal for Shiki and Neku is to find a way to escape from the Reapers.

The World Ends With You consists of several special powers. Characters earn experience points in which they gain new abilities. The game is broken down into three chapters. Neku has the ability to scan the Shibuya districts using his special black pin. When wearing popular pins or clothing from certain districts, the items can be enhanced or upgraded. Psychic pins are utilized in the game to be exchanged for money or equipment and is also used in combat.
