Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)

Super Mario Galaxy is not just another addition in a long line of Mario Bros. games, but is a game unto itself. The story line behind this new Super Mario game is that Mario is invited to a party at Princess Peach’s castle, and while in attendance, Bowser and his henchman show up to wreck havoc. Only this time, Bowser whisks both Princess Peach and her castle off into outer space with him. Then the chase is on. It’s up to Mario to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser once again.

Mario is transported all over the galaxy with help from a new friend, Rosalina, and her little star like creatures that go by the name Lumas. There are 42 different galaxies in this game, and each new galaxy has its own set of traps, puzzles, and mazes for Mario to figure out. The central hub for all of these galaxies is Rosalina’s Comet Observatory. The visual effects in these new galaxies are something to behold. You’ll be amazed at the graphics.

In Super Mario Galaxy you’ll be using the Wii Remote and the Nunchuck for a variety of different moves, some old and some new. The first new move you’ll obtain when beginning the game is the spinning kick. Another new move that’s required in this game is using the Wii remote to point at “Star Bits” that you’ll be collecting to use as ammo, or to be used as food for the cute little lumas characters. As you work your way through the different galaxies you’ll figure out what moves and techniques are required to get you there. This game can be played with two players, however the second player’s participation is very limited.
