Sins of a Solar Empire

Sins of a Solar Empire is a 4X (explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate) real time strategy game. Players can vanquish planets and explore far away star systems in a massively scaled, fully 3D environment featuring entire galaxies, orbiting planets, clusters of asteroids, space dust and radiant stars.

Solo play is confined to skirmish games in which you pick one of three factions to use in a larger than life battle to conquer the map. The game has three main resources to gather: credits (currency), gained by accomplishing missions, bounties, and taxing planets; metal used in the construction of ships and buildings, amassed by constructing refineries on asteroids; and crystal used for advanced technology and building multiple classes of ships in the game thus, building your empire.

The Planets are divided into several types, desert, terran (human), volcanic, and ice. There are also many spatial anomalies such as asteroids, gas giants, solar storms and space junk.

The three races in the game are the TEC (Trader Emergency Coalition), the Advent, and the Vasari.

Space exploration, technology research, and unit management are all drawn out over the span of a game and this balanced pacing gives you more than enough time to develop every facet of your empire.

A player has the ability to bribe local pirates to raid enemies or forge alliances and cease fires to manipulate opponents. The fine mix of 4X-style depth and RTS-inspired design makes for an seductive and addictive combination.
