Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is a prequel to Final Fantasy VII. It is an action role-playing game developed by Square Enix. Zack Fair, one of the main characters is a 2nd class Soldier who meets several characters from Final Fantasy VII, such as Cloud Strife and Aerith Gainsborough. The game takes place during the war with the Wutai to events at Nibelheim, and into the start of where Final Fantasy VII took place. Sephiroth returns as the main villain in this new game. The game was released to the United States on March 25, 2008.
Crisis Core starts out seven years before the end of Final Fantasy VII. Zack Fair dreams of becoming 1st Class Soldier and is taught under Angeal Hewley, who is a 1st Class Soldier. Angeal believes that to be a Soldier, it takes honor, loyalty, and friendship. Zack and Angeal are sent to Fort Tamblin to fight against the Wutai War. Before Angeal dies, he passes on his Buster sword to Zack and handed him the rank of 1st Class Soldier. Zack then carries on Angeal’s legacy by speaking to trainees and encouraging recruits.
Crisis Core offers beams of quick actions during combats. The player can selects actions from a small menu, which features an attack option, magic, special attacks, and items. One of the changes that take place in this game is a weapon. As a player, you will not be allowed to buy weapons. Shops in Crisis Core utilize a wireless system where players are allowed to buy items from the shop through the main menu. With over 300 side missions, you have all the time to enjoy various features in the game.
