Burnout Paradise Keeps On Burning

On January 22nd, 2008 Criterion Games launched the latest installment in the Burnout series. Formally known as Burnout 5, the new game is a total reinvention of the series. The company wanted to set a bar and leap into the new generation game from scratch.

The entirety of the game is set in the fictional Paradise City. One can take part in any race or event and go anywhere with no limits. However, in order to explore the city and race with a nicer vehicle, the player will need to complete the tasks within the game.

For the serious burners out there, don’t think for a second that it gets easier as you complete an event -- even though your car will improve, your opponents will get better and faster as well. The more road rages you finalize, the more cars you will have to take down later.

Like in life itself, you will start by getting your learner’s permit and will progress as you go along to your D and C licenses and so forth.

This is the fifth line in gonzo racing. Here, you literally have the license to smash up anything, which comes your way, and believe me, they come at you quickly. Any corner, intersection, or alleyway has the potential of a crash, havoc and moving violations are a given.

The whole city is yours for the taking. There is action all over. The opportunity is given to you and you must grab it and do your best to earn your own burnout license.
