Puzzling Portal

Summertime means hot summer releases and nothing works best at curing the blues of the otherwise boring summer days like video games do. With the press of a button you become submerged in a world of your own and fight bad guys, rescue princesses, make a lot of money quick, and other things you don’t typically do in real life.

Dive into Valve’s latest video game “Portal.” As the title implies, the game involves a lot of teleportation via portals. A robot known as GLaDOS challenges protagonist, Chell to complete puzzles and be rewarded with cake upon completion of all the puzzles.

Players will take on the role of Chell as she solves a series of different puzzles by teleporting using the Portal Gun which can create portals between flat planes. The laws of gravity are still at work in the game and so no matter where the portals may lead, the character will always be standing right side up. Speed will also follow the laws of physics and remain constant through teleportation.

Portal is now available wherever videos are sold and online for Windows PCs, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Xbox Live Arcade. The PC game costs about $20 and the video games range from anywhere around $30. Get puzzle solving today!
