Super Mario Galaxy

America's most popular video game character is back and full of action. The Super Mario game series was a hit on the original Nintendo game system, followed by hits on the Super Nintendo gaming system, and the success continued with Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64 gaming system. Super Mario Galaxy on the Nintendo Wii not only follows the past success of the previous Super Mario Brothers games, but it surpasses all previous expectations.

Super Mario Galaxy has taken the classic game and flipped it, rolled it and literally turned it upside down. The three-dimensional (3-D) axis may be the best thing that has happened to a video game since graphics were first introduced. Mario will keep your head turning and constantly thinking about your next move.

The Wiimote and the nunchuck make a great combination when trying to navigate through the new 3-D stages. The pointer on the Wii Remote is used to collect much needed Star Bits, shaking of the Remote breaks boxes and paralyzes enemies, and the joystick on the nunchuk makes navigation and flying fairly easy. The most innovative aspect of this game is that each level, known as a galaxy in this game, features unique gravity forces. Entire sections of levels in the game may be played upside down from the player's perspective, but the controls are from a right-side up perspective. Also new to this game, Mario can transform into a bee to fly around levels for a limited time.

The general plot has not differed from all of the Super Mario series in which Mario's nemesis Bowser abducts Princess Peach, and the game's makers have added enough new stages and music to make the game very familiar. The game actually has a fairly philosophical story that focuses on star dust at the component that makes up the universe.

Mario delivers a knock-out performance in the Nintendo Wii's new hit, Super Mario Galaxy. This game is a must have for the classic Mario fans and new gamers!
