Crysis

Crysis is a first-person shooter game developed by the company CryTek, who are famous for another popular shooter known as FarCry. The player controls a character who is equipped with a futuristic "nanosuit," which enables the character to use several unique abilities in order to defeat the enemies throughout the mission.

The islet on which the game takes place is occupied by North Koreans, who wish to keep the contents of the area a secret. However, it is obvious that the technology that the Koreans are hiding is extremely advanced. As the game progresses, the character becomes more involved in the progress of a war which could decide the fate of the whole of humanity.

Due to the extremely advanced nature of Crysis' graphical engine, the game does require a high-end PC to run well. Although the game can run on some lower-end PCs, the likelihood of achieving a decent framerate is slim to none. Additionally, parents may want to be wary of the content in the game. The game is extremely advanced graphically, which means that the violence in the game is also quite graphic. For this reason, the game is recommended for mature audiences only.

Crysis has set the bar graphically for first-person shooters. Although many games in its genre do have excellent graphics, the new CryTek engine has surpassed any game to date visually. Of course, high-profile games are sure to release soon enough that will match the game in terms of physics and visual appeal. Rumors have been traveling that a sequel to the game is already being developed, so only time will tell what the next installment will present to the series' fans.
