The World Ends With You.

This game is set in the Shibuya district of Tokyo. You are introduced to a nerd named Neku who just received a voice mail message stating that he will cease to exist unless he performs successfully a certain task.

From the people who brought you “Is it a man or is it a woman?” final fantasy series, comes this visually striking and strangely ambitious title. Once you play this game you could safely say that it is entirely different from any other.

Our hero, Neko, is the one the whole city is reliant upon to restore their hope by using the coolest fashion”. Neko has the unique ability to hear what everyone is thinking, he has a strange looking, tattooed pin embedded in his head and he continually getts messages on his cell phone from the group called The Reapers.

Neko meets an affable teenager named Shiki who counter balances Neko’s pessimism with her optimism. The dialogue between them (displayed in the top screen) is entertaining and mysterious.

As the story unfolds one has so many ways to move about in order to keep alive and fight with your enemies. You will collect various pins with a variety of powers along your way. When your energy is depleted, you will have to wait for a few moments during which time, you will regain your health back.

It is probably the most unique game ever created for Nintendo DS but it might not be to the taste of everyone, so one should rent it before buying it.
