Sins of a Solar Empire Video Game

Sins of a Solar Empire is a popular science fiction PC game that was released in February of 2008. It was developed by Ironclad Games and is compatible with both Windows XP and Vista. It can be a single player or a multi-player game and is rated T (teen) by the ESRB. It sold 200,000 copies in its first month of release.

Sins of a Solar Empire puts the player in both strategic and leadership positions. In this game, you are the leader of a galactic empire that is at war with other galactic empires. There are as many as one hundred different planets that can be explored by using an interplanetary highway that connects them. These planets are dispersed throughout four different solar systems. Effective management of your vast number of starship fleets is necessary in order to conquer opposing forces and expand your galactic empire.

The game has many advanced technical features that were made specifically for it. Ironclad powered Sins of a Solar Empire with an advanced graphics engine known as the Iron Engine. This engine gives the player a detailed galaxy to explore. Some of these amazing details can be seen on the textures of planets and ships. It also gives the player the ability to view hundreds of starships on the screen at one time as they battle it out. It was well-received by video game critics, earning 4.5 out of 5 from GamePro and GameSpy, and a 91% rating from PC Gamer US. An expansion pack will be available in January 2009.
