Square Enix's Next Innovative RPG:The World Ends With You

In the last several years gamers have seen many role-playing games. Square Enix has finally broken the mold on RPGs with The World Ends With You for the Nintendo DS. This new RPG is the latest craze, ans all the gamers that couldn’t stop playing Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts has got to add this one to their list. The World Ends With You will have you fighting with partners, battling for “pins,” and even watching the latest trends in Shibuya, Tokyo. Even taking a break from the game will earn experience points.

Our character, Neku, who has unique physic abilities has to play “The Reapers” game. While playing the Reapers game he has to collect “pins” (300 in all) and battle the “Noise.” The physic “pins” are our weapons and have really innovative combos available, that use either the Nintendo DS's D pad, the stylus, or even shouting into the microphone, depending on whether you are Neku or his partner. We have to have a partner to battle with so we are supplied with several throughout the game. Neku goes through all the normal RPG emotional ups and downs, and there are the heartwarming moments also.

Here is one of the hints to this game. While traveling through Shibuya, make sure to be paying close attention to the latest styles and trends, stylish and trendy clothing and “pins” will increase your effectiveness. This game will have you going crazy watching both screens and switching between the D pad and stylus, it seems hard at first but worth the time it takes to learn. The wireless tracker kicks in when you're out with friends and you can earn experience utilizing that also.

You can even play two person mode with the mini game “Tin Pin Slammer.” But if your not into RPGs, or maybe The World Ends With You will be just the game to get you interested. If nothing else, at least give the soundtrack a listen to. It’s great.
