Developed by Grasshopper Manufacturer for the Nintendo Wii, No More Heroes was released in the United States in January of 2008. The object in this game is to kill the top assassins to further go on in the game. You may use the standard Wii controller and the Nunchuk for your fighting skills. According to the Gamespot website, this particular game received a 9 out of 10 review rating, while it received an 8.3 average with other critics, and an 8.6 from users. This game is rated mature due to the blood, gore, sexual themes and intense violence.
The main character's name is Travis Touchdown. Travis can use a beam katana for fighting, and also uses kicking and punching. The game takes place in a fictional place called Santa Destroy, California. Travis is living in squalor conditions. He is hired by a woman named Sylvia as a hit man to kill someone called Helter Skelter, or “The Drifter.” This will earn him a higher rank in the United Assassins Association. There are some definite twists and turns in the plot, as Sylvia has a disturbing past that presents problems in the game.
There are many different jobs you can do to earn money for clothes and weapons. These jobs include things such as: picking up garbage, collecting coconuts, or go around killing people. To see the real ending, you must collect all the beam katanas before you finish the game.
