From the makers of the Galactic Civilizations series comes another 4X strategy game, Sins of a Solar Empire. Like the Galactic Civilizations series, Sins of a Solar Empire is set far in the future with the human race as a choice among other alien races. An overview provided by sinsofasolarempire.com, the Sins of a Solar Empire website, states that the player can win "through a combination of diplomacy, economic skill, cultural influence, and sheer military might to establish dominance in your corner of the galaxy."
Videos giving the basic overview of game play can be found at gamespot.com, showing the vast differences between this game and other previous Ironclad games. Sins of a Solar Empire tries to go into a bold direction by combining 4X strategy and empire building with the real time element of an RTS game. What it achieves is a nice blend of action with resource management creating a unique game experience in a huge environment unlike any other. Sins of a Solar Empire works on the same basis as its predecessor, Galactic Civilizations. Use your diplomacy to get what you want from other civilizations, use your economic prowess to overpower your foes fiscally, show the dominance of your civilization through your superior culture, or beat your enemies into dust with a military victory.
Sins of a Solar Empire adds a whole new layer to the civilizations genre of games by synthesizing two elements very familiar to strategy game players into one creation that is an incredibly unique game.
