There is no doubt that this popular video game has had a spectacular year. At the end of the 2008, gaming and tech sites/magazines published their “best of” lists and Sins of a Solar Empire was among the top.
Over the last couple of weeks we have seen Sins of a Solar Empire just sweep through nominations and awards. Here's just a few of the top acknowledgments: IGN Awards honored Sins as the "PC Game of the Year;" GameSpot announced Sins as their "Best Strategy Game of 2008;" Game Spy placed Sins in the top 10 PC games of 2008; Gamasutra placed Sins in their top five PC games of 2008 list; Wired.com put Sins in their top five games list; and Big Download awarded Sins as Best Strategy Game of 2008.
It doesn't get much better than that. Sins of a Solar Empire is here to stay. The question is, is humanity? It is up to you to save the galaxy from three powerful fractions. You will need a combination of diplomacy, economic skill, cultural influence and sheer military might, to establish order and save humanity over your corner of the galaxy.
Thanks to Ironclad Games, the maker of Sins of a Solar Empire, epic doesn't even fully encapsulate the scope of this game. It boldly goes where no RTS game has gone before. It combines the empire-building of 4X strategy games (explore, exploit, expand, exterminate) with the tactical precision of real-time strategy. Fans have spent thousands of hours immersed in this game and some haven't even touched the surface.
