“Professor Layton and the Curious Village”

Video games are the craze of the century. This may look like a game for children, but it’s designed for anyone who loves to solve puzzles. Level-5 developed the game for Nintendo DS. The music, voices, visual effects and the animation are high quality. The plot deals with mature topics such as, death, responsibilities of parenting and maintaining a good reputation. This is a good video game to give to children. The game is short and the characters are wonderful role models.

This game is the first in the Professor Layton series. There are two more video games created as sequels. Level-5 created this game flawlessly. The DS stylus is simple to use to move around the village so that you can concentrate on solving the puzzles. There are four sorts of puzzles including brain teasers, mathematical riddles, sliding puzzles and logic puzzles. Each puzzle has three hints. There are 120 puzzles, but you only need to solve 75 puzzles to get to the end of the game. So, is it a puzzle or an adventure story? You would have to answer that it is both.

This game also provides WI-FI puzzles. Right now there is only one puzzle you can download. In the future there will be more. While most video games are action oriented, the Professor Layton series is a nice opportunity to experience something different. The Nintendo DS game is entertaining for any age group to play.
