Final Fantasy VII is the latest role-playing game from Square Enix, and like its previous installments for the various game systems, it holds up to, and surpasses the expectations of its predecessors. As the other installments of the Final Fantasy legend, Final Fantasy VII for the PSP, has an incredible and poignant story, and stars a likable and complex hero. Every aspect of the game is utterly amazing, from the production design, to the cutscenes and the voice acting.
Crisis Core has the striking balance of old and new, and juggles the fan service with pure role playing satisfaction. As with all of the other Final Fantasy installments, Crisis Core has gets the players completely involved with the characters. Zack for instance is the main character of this installment, and although he is not new to the Final Fantasy franchise, he seemed like an unlikely choice for the main character of a prequel to one of the best RPGs ever created. Zack's co-stars are some the legends fan favorites, like Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith. However, the characters that you will most likely empathize with are the two most unlikely ones, Zack and Sephiroth. Their complex, and troubled demeanor, as well as how their personal stories weave in and out of each other, making Crisis Core not just the finest role playing games available on the PSP, but also one of the best Japanese RPGs in many years.
Final Fantasy has been a leading franchise in the role playing genre since its first release in the late 1980s, and Crisis Core holds up to its legacy by being better than the last one.
