Grand Theft Auto IV is the ninth game in the GTA series and is the first in the series to have an online playing mode. The story follows the player as Niko Bellic, a foreign war veteran come to the United States in search of a better life and brighter future. But it doesn't take long before Niko finds himself thrust into the heart of the city's dark underground, where he must turn to his wits and his experience in order to survive this strange new land.
The gameplay is pretty much the same as the other GTA games. The player can decide on which missions they want to try and complete as well as how quickly they want to complete them. Some of the basic vehicles that the player will have at their disposal include the regulars: police cruisers, ambulances, buses and taxi cabs. Some of the more fancy rides that can be obtained in this game include the Banshee, Sultan and Sultan RS, Super GT, and many others.
The weapons are pretty much the same, from pistols and shotguns to rifles, RPGs and hand grenades. Some of your more basic weapons still include bats, blades, and explosive cocktails. The Ammu-Nation shops that players may remember from previous GTA games have all been shut down. Taking their place are a number of underground gun shops and runners that can be found in basements and alleys allover the city. If you gain enough respect from Little Jacob, the Jamaican arms dealer from Dukes, you can call him and her will meet you nearby with a trunk filled with weapons and reduced price goodies.
