A new game for Xbox 360 is Lord of the Rings: Conquest. There is a fantasy battle field where good and evil are played. Battlefront formats allow players to switch roles between the two if unhappy with their findings. There are fantasy settings where players can choose between their characters and choose the way they want to fight.
The characters that can be chosen include Oliphaunts, Scouts, Trolls, the Balrog, Nazgul and many more depending on the range of combat. Some of the weapons players can choose from are swords, axes, fire arrows, daggers and cloaks. Powers can be obtained throughout the game such as fireballs, shock waves, and the ability to orb into different spots. Many can play, up to 16 players can play online or offline or you can use a split screen with two to four players. Playing online, players can download more characters and maps than were seen in the movie. Lord of the Rings has brought its battlefront to the game setting for everyone to enjoy.
The elements that were cut from the films were put into the game which allows players different ways to defeat the enemies. Players can also assist Frodo in recovering the ring. The interesting thing behind this game is being able to choose whether you want to defeat evil or be evil yourself. Some critics have given this game a poor rating stating it was "too boring." Yet many agree that the game is intriguing, and enjoy being able to switch characters from good to evil. Anyone who enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movies or novels will most likely enjoy this game.
