Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 2 is the second in a series created by Relic Entertainment and is designed only to be played on a PC. This version of Warhammer also offers the very popular online live interactive multi-player strategy experience that modern gamers crave as well as a single player role playing game option. So its like getting two games for the price of one.
Unlike other multiplayer live interactive games, Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 2 does not play like a strategy game at all. It plays more along the lines of an action role playing game. Groups of players come together to destroy big bad boss characters, and hosts of other lesser bad guys while they together through mapped lands to meet objectives assigned in each while all the time killing hoards of monsters from land to land.
The storyline is predictable being that it is the basic concept of the good-guy space marines fighting bad guys like orks, elders and power wielding boss characters who are all trying to destroy or conquer all the others and the planet. The lands and maps are revisited often and can become tedious after hours of game play. But it’s the online, huge multi-player game feature that draws the attention of veteran and novice gamers alike. The sheer number of good guys and bad guys keeps the battles raging and exciting and the online interaction draws players from all over the world to join forces.
