Portal For PC

Portal is a popular first person action/puzzle game that was first released in October 2007. It is available for several systems besides the PC including Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The game has been very well received even though playtime is relatively short.

You are the character Chell and you must solve a series of puzzles using the portal gun also known as an ASHPD or Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device. This device allows your player to “port” from one puzzle to the next. Chell has spring loaded shoes to help prevent harm when moving from one area to another but she can be killed or harmed by various dangers.

There are levels that have turret guns, bouncing balls with electricity or pools of acid that will kill her. She can also be damaged by items that come through the portals. Things that go into the portals maintain their speed but can change directions depending on the locations of the portals in the areas.

GLaDOS starts out as a friendly and helpful presence for Chell, who wakes up alone in a chamber as the game begins. As Chell proceeds through the game, GLaDOS provides her with helpful tips and information. Once Chell reaches the end of the game however, it quickly becomes apparent that something has corrupted GLaDOS system. Chell must escape through the underground where hints are given in graffiti painted on the walls. If this seems like your kind of game, be sure to check it out.
