The World Ends With You

The game takes place in a make believe version of the Shibuya shopping district in Tokyo, Japan. This is a role playing game, and you are dead.

The World Ends With You is a competition between you and a motley crew of bad guys. The game begins with you showing up in the Underground, which is where dead people hang out. While there, you will encounter the likes of, the Composer, the Conductor, Reapers, baddies referred to as "Noise", and other players. You have a cell phone and a timer stamped on your right hand. Both of these are very important items and you will want to pay close attention to them. You get to play the role of Neku, your average "why me" world teen. He wakes up and finds himself dead, then discovers he must battle reapers and enemies to get back to the real world.

The game is played with two people, and you can share health and fate. If one dies, you both get "erased." The duel screen feature of the DS is what makes this such an awesome game. You actually play two characters, and both of you must solve complex challenges in order to reach your goal. Along your journey, you must fight "Noise", and it will take both of you to kill them. Granted, you will not see top of the line graphics here. This game takes place in Tokyo's bustling shopping hub, Shibuya. And the characters dress and style are based on real life Japanese teenagers.

With the split screen feature of DS and the ability to swap stuff with other players, this game rocks. It may just make it fun to be dead.
