Okami for Wii

Okami is an adventure videogame that is based on Japanese mythology. The visuals of this video game are fantastic. The game's graphics take on the appearance of a watercolor painting, and has a cell-shaded look that makes it appear like a traditional Japanese sumi-e painting.

Okami's story takes place during an unknown period of Japan's history. The player takes control of the sun god Amaterasu, who has been reborn in the body of a white wolf. The whole point of the game is to take back the lands that have been poisoned by an evil force, and this is done with the help of a tool called the Celestial Brush. The brush is used in combat, puzzle solving, and even basic gameplay. By using the Wii remote to draw slashes, loops, and circles, the player can interact with the environment and things around Amaterasu.

Although Okami was originally developed for the Playstation 2, its innovative brush system seems much better fit for the Wii version. The Nintendo Wii's controller is motion sensitive, making brush strokes as easy as a swich of the remote. Since the game is played with a Wii remote, the person playing uses a lot of motion to control the actions that happen in the game. This helps with the pace of the game, therefore making it faster or slower. The challenges are somewhat challenging depending on how good the person is. People who play fast could, in a minimum amount of 30 hours, finish the game with the secrets that are hidden.
