You are Chell, and your life has just gotten very complicated. Facing off against GLaDOS, you must survive challenges that are put in your way, in order to stay alive.

Portal is an off shoot of the half-life series, it offers the same rich, challenging environment as half-life. In Portal, you take on the totally mad AI named "GLaDOS." Your mission? To survive. Your challenge begins with you waking up in a place called the "Aperture Science Enrichment Center." You are told that you will be tested on a group of challenges, and this is not exactly true. When you enter Portal, you have access to some really cool toys. The Gravity Gun, and the "Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device," are just a couple of them. As the game title implies, you have to use portals to get around in this bizarre place. The true challenge of Portal is to the game player's themselves. It forces you to think and react in an entirely different way. Down can become up when you move through a two dimensional world. As you traverse this environment, remember to watch out for the obstacles. You can get shot at, burned, crunched, along with other bad things. Pay attention as you wander about, trying to figure out the challenges. You will be getting tips and hints from GLaDOS along the way. Just keep in mind though, this AI is a bit mad.

Portal is not a hardcore shoot-em-up arcade game. But it will task your gray matter more than most of them, as you attempt to escape from the lab.
