Okami for Wii

Nintendo Wii has taken the world by storm and keeps coming out with new games to thrill its fans, both young and old alike. In April 2008, the Wii unveiled its new game, Okami. The game’s storyline is about a mythical sun god who has the task of returning a dark world back to its beautiful, peaceful state, while having to fight all kinds of evil forces to succeed.

Although the storyline is similar to most games in that there are good guys, bad buys, someone or something to save and weapons on both sides, the allure of the game is in its commitment to Japanese art and tradition. The game’s design is filled with realistic Japanese artistic impressions of scrolls and water brush paintings, as well as luscious 3D scenes on each level.

The game, as with all Wii games, requires players to interact physically using the Wii remote in order to progress through the levels. This gives it a more personal feel to the gamer. The character has weapons to fight with, religious articles to use against attackers and very powerful attacks called Glaives that can be charged up like superpowers.

The game offers a player the chance to be a god and save a once beautiful land from certain destruction. Who doesn’t want to do that? Players both young and old who appreciate beautiful artistic Japanese design, interactive game play and mythical storyline will find the Nintendo Wii’s Okami the perfect game to meet all their gaming needs.
