Patapon a New Game for PSP

Patapon is the name of a fictional tribe who has fallen on hard times and the name of a new PSP game. The player is the Patapon deity. Over the years the Patapon tribe has been forced to move from their lands at the hands of the Zigoton army. With the help of their deity, they hope to prevail. The goal of the game is for the Patapon tribe to go to Earthend so they can find a sacred object referred to as “IT.”

You, the deity, are able to communicate with the tribe by using drum beats. The drum beats must be constant through each mission using different sequences of four drum notes. As you proceed through the game, the sequences become more complex and you learn a variety of commands such as charge, attack and retreat.

Basically, the deity’s role is to assist the Patapon in overcoming hazards, including environmental problems, dangerous native creatures, predators and the Zigoton forces.

As the deity you are able to control the weather. There are four different weather/nature related patterns you are able to control. Being adept at weather control can assist the Patapon in their adventures, such as by creating a timely earthquake or a tailwind to assist the marksmanship of the archers.

The player must choose which tribe members will take part in each mission. The missions consist of battles, hunts and defeating bosses. You will choose your tribe members depending on what the goal of the mission is. Strategy is very important in this aspect of the game.
